Absolutely blown away with the helpfulness and friendliness from staff. Presentations were informative, kids loved having a hold of the snakes. All enclosures are clean and tidy. Such a wonderful morning out making life long memories for the kids.

We had the best time at Snakes down under, 4a and 6c. There weren't many people besides us, so it was great being able to watch the shows and touch some animals without struggling to see or having to wait. The shows are greatly spaced out, so you can go see other animals in between the shows. We loved the wallabies and kangaroos as they were very friendly.Kids loved being able to pet an alligator and hold a snake. It is definitely a worthwhile stop on your drive thru Childers to support these guys, too!

Visited as a family and thoroughly enjoyed our day. The park is clean and tidy, while all the animals appear content and in good health. The individual presentations and animal handling sessions were great; very informative, entertaining and thrilling even for my big kids.We all departed with a separate, unique highlight of the day, ranging from the tortoises and meerkats through to, for me, the 15 cuddly minutes I spent with the friendliest and most affectionate emu I have ever met!Overall, Snakes Downunder is a great business, filled with knowledgeable, friendly staff and, best of all, a myriad of wild and wonderful animals to behold. Treat yourself to an affordable family day out and support this special establishment.

Came here today with hubby, daughter in law and 2 young ones. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, very knowledgeable staff, we attended the venomous snake presentation, super interesting and informative! Loved the way the volunteers interacted with us and shared information on the animal in the enclosure as well as what was coming up in the way of presentations for the day. This created a more involved experience. The zoo is small but packed with a good quality of experience. We had a fantastic few hours. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this park to anyone and I reckon we'll be back!

I had an AMAZING time here last weekend. The keepers were all so knowledgeable about the animals, and were very safe and organised when letting visitors handle the reptiles. The park has so many different animals, it kept us busy for the whole day! I took my camera and managed to get loads of photos that I’m really happy with!!! Would definitely recommend a visit for anyone nearby! - @kirsttravelss x

A fabulous park. Talks about snakes + you can get photos with koalas. The Komodo Dragon is beautiful & the Meerkats are super cute.

Sadly I didn't get there for any shows due to a spontaneous unplanned visit, so I can't rate them.... but the venue is gorgeous and well set up. It's a very pleasant place with a great range of critters that are pretty easily viewed in their displays.

We had an awesome time! Arrived right at opening time of 9:30 am and left around 1 pm, and it was a perfect visit. The enclosures are top-notch, showcasing a great range of reptiles. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. There were four interactive shows, giving us plenty of time to explore the park and see other animals in between. It's a small zoo, but definitely one of my favourites. Huge credit to the staff for making it such an enjoyable visit!

Lovely little surprise! We decided to stop in on our way back to Brisbane from Bundy and it was there on the side of the road. Not big by any means but a lovely way to spend an hr or 2. Tidy and well put together. We saw a dangerous snake demonstration, crocodiles, kangaroos, emu, koalas and a Komodo dragon! Highly recommend!

Visited this park in 2009 and had an unforgettable time with the kids, and passing back through today visited again and had just as much fun by ourselves. The staff here are so passionate and informative. Attentive and patient to any questions. The cages and enclosures are the cleanest, with clean, fresh water and foliage. Great experience, I just hope one day I maybe passing by again.

Highly recommended. Immaculate grounds and the animals are beautiful and appear to be well cared for. We did the Meerkat experience with my 4 year old and he absolutely loved it. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly especially the young fellas are great with the kids.

A great spot! I took my son during the school holidays. Lots to see and I found it really interesting. I learnt a lot during the presentations, esp about the snakes. The park was lovely and clean and the animals looked well cared for. I would suggest getting there at opening time, as the shows are only done once a day in the morning. I found the cost good value, if you catch the shows. We have overseas visitors coming shortly and will be sure to take them there. Definitely worth a visit!!
Nicole M — Google review
This place is an absolute gem! What a lovely way to break up the drive from Rocky. Well worth a stop! My kids got to touch a beautiful python and baby alligator! Staff are great, super friendly, great variety of beautiful animals. We will definitely be dropping back in again next time we're passing by.

Fantastic for the whole family. Knowledgeable staff that share so much. If you can be there for the snake talk, koala chat and the crocodile show you'll love it and learn heaps. Take plenty of water and snacks. Wheelchair friendly, around the whole park. My 4yr old granddaughter loved feeding the kangaroos and even got to see the emus having a hosedown. Lots of shade so you can rest between seeing different areas. All areas are clean. Eco toilets.Plenty of parking. A must visit, we were staying in Hervey Bay and it was only a 40 minute drive.
Daphne K — Google review
I took a client to the park to build an animal portfolio as he is wanting to take on photography as a hobby. We were amazed that such a small park can be so informative and interactive. The staff are brilliant, full of knowledge, friendly and welcoming, the animals were great and the shows put on were very entertaining. The park was clean and easy to navigate. There are some great opportunities the get photo's with the animals. The entry fee is well worth the price and the gift shop is well affordable and stocked. I will be making Snakes Downunder a regular place to visit with both my kids and clients.

We loved our visit to flying high bird park, there was so many different beautiful birds to see. Enjoyed taking our time in each area, feeding the birds and taking photos. As the park grows and has larger numbers of visitors, I imagine it would be beneficial to have roaming staff to keep a closer watch on visitors and the beautiful animals. However I can understand this would add to running costs. We were ready for our tasty toasties and coffee at the cafe, which is a great spot to stop and relax after all that walking! Looking forward to our next visit

What an amazing place to visit! Highlights were the parrots, deers, pony and llamas 😍 $20 per adult, short drive from Bundy, great family time, lots of laughs had - doesn't get much better 😊 Will definitely be returning!Be aware...ostrichs eat small paper bags whole 😳
Sue-Ellen W — Google review
It's a good, not so little, bird park! They have the bird food to feed the birds if you'd like, otherwise they are very friendly and fly over to you, depending what you have on you may be more interesting (my earrings were favourites). They also have the walk go through to some farm animals, which is neat!It is a bird park, so I think mice/rats in the bird cages are common, tidy in the front reception area. Friendly staff serving!
Erica — Google review
This place is a lot bigger than I thought it would be! Lots to see. Unfortunately, we went in the middle of a very hot day so a lot of the animals were sleeping in the shade and not interested in the animal feed. The grounds are quite nice so it's a shame that the conditions of the animal pens/cages seemed a little run down, maybe because it is for sale currently.
Harriet C — Google review
A very reasonably priced attraction with lots to see. The young lady at reception was simply a genuinely happy person who clearly loves her job. The souvenir and gift shop was reasonably priced as was the cafe. We really enjoyed this place and the bird life and animals were beautiful.

We visited the park today. We had such a great morning. The animals are beautiful and happy. The staff were informative and polite. We all have different favourites in the park, but personally I loved the deer, Thunder the pony, and the goats 🥰 My only suggestion to anyone visiting is definetly take water with you as you walk through if you're visiting in Summer. It's mostly shaded which is amazing, but still very hot during our Queensland Summer, and by the time we got to the end we were very hot and thirsty! Visit this place, it's lovely 😊

Was a really good experience. Ended up spending a couple of hours at the park. Can feed the animals. Birds will fly down to you, absolutely recommend getting mammal food can feed all sorts deer, miniature horse, camels.10/10 Experience if your wanting to be up close with animals.

Visiting Flying High Bird Park was a delightful experience for all ages. Although the park is a bit small, the variety of birds they have is impressive and makes it worth the visit. The wide selection of birds provides a unique and educational opportunity for bird enthusiasts of all kinds. The park's staff was friendly and informative, making the visit even more enjoyable. While it might be small now, I'm sure they will continue to improve and expand in the future. If you appreciate the beauty and diversity of birds, Flying High Bird Park is a must-see destination.

Reading the reviews wasn't good but we still went. It's well worth it the stop. Birds really friendly and are looking for a feed. Just buy lots of feed for the animals before going in. Really large range of souvenirs that's on par for pricing around Australia.

Spent 90 minutes wandering through.Lots of birds. Opportunity to feed birds, a camel, goats, fallow deer, and a pony.

I’m more concerned about the animals. In the park you have the option to go through a neon black light room, located near the steam punk statues. This room is full of fish, however I question their health. The fish were barley moving, most weren’t moving at all. The fish seemed to be gold fish. It’s not normal for fish to be still for so long. It could be for a number of health reasons, stress, or the environment. It could also be that the fish are just sleeping however even their tails weren’t moving. When talking to the woman at the ticket office about them, she said They do that a lot and She’ll send the boys down to have a look at them.Their tanks were completely empty too, no information sign to say what fish they were. I’m not a fish expert but I definitely think these fish deserve more attention. If they’re neglecting the fish, I worry about how they treat the other animals. If this is normal and I’ve misunderstood the situation I’ll be happy to change my review.

My sister and her family and I and my hubby had a great time visiting together. I especially enjoyed the dinosaur bird snapping the food from my hand. All the birds are just beautiful to see. The seers and buck is a great addition to see also. They were too interested in us unless we had food lol.And the upgrade from we the years is amazing in comparison. My niece And nephew thought the pin f was the best but and wanted to take him home. Tantrum slightly avoided as I said I’d buy them a milkshake if they shut up. Great day out

Situated alongside a river, Queen's Park is a well-maintained botanical garden featuring flower beds, lush lawns, and tall trees that provide shade. Visitors can enjoy the serene atmosphere and marvel at the waterfall. Additionally, there are historical sites like the Memorial Park and Museum that offer great opportunities for exploration or picnics. Although the park was affected by recent floods in February, it has since been restored to its tranquil state thanks to exceptional efforts by council officials.
Very quiet and clean town. Lot to see, the Queen Park and The memorial park is amazingly well looked after, perfect place to just walk through and picnic. AND go to the memorial museum, its really good! Highly recommend it! 👌

Gorgeous little spot of land in Maryborough with well manicured grass and gardens, seating areas, river viewing, toilets and even a miniature train that you can take a ride on with the kids (covered in shoes required, however they do have spare Crocs available).

Stopped in Maryborough randomly on a drive. We stopped at the shop to get some food and then found this park to sit and eat. Kids ran around, seemed well maintained. Right on the river. Like the musical features there too. Kids loved it. Nice spot.

Fantastic park with a huge open grassland space, several walking tracks and lots of statues commemorating those who fought in the war. Very well maintained area and a beautiful war memorial towards the main road. Lovely views over the river too and beautiful for walking. I love zoos or wildlife parks that put their money back into the animals welfare. This place was run by volunteers. Looking after birds or other animals that simply could not survive in the wild. One legged and one winged Galah's. A beautiful old Wedge Tail Eagle, Winston. Only there because a human in a car hit him. So pls take time to drop in.

Absolutely amazing place to visit. Very quiet here too (we went on Friday morning). Was nice to see all the animals very relaxed and enjoying themselves. They went at their own pace and didn't look stressed and weren't hassled by anyone, came up to you by themselves if they were curious whilst others sat in the shade. They have a reptiles section as well with some snakes and lizards! Highly recommend stopping here if you get the chance. Great value for money!

I love zoos run by hard working volunteers . How can they not be worth 5 stars ? Looking after sick or injured animals , that otherwise would not survive. Worthy of my support every time. A really nice wildlife sanctuary to visit with a heap of native wildlife. It’s all run by volunteers who are passionate about the animals. There are kangaroos running free, which you can feed. They’re so cute and come right up to you. They also have other animals including; emus, dingoes, wallaby’s and a section of birds and reptiles. Oh and gorgeous peacocks! They don’t have a HUGE selection of animals and it’s not like a zoo - so don’t except that. But it’s a quaint, quite a big place and feels nice to support local. It’s only $15 entrance and $3 for kangaroo food. A heap of parking also.

We did the Spooky Train ride and the kids LOVED IT! Such a great atmosphere, the characters were AMAZING! They really brought the train to life with their personalities, their interactions with passengers. Food was delicious, really enjoyed the pasta and the kids love their lunch boxes they get to take home. Definitely going to do another train ride and have already booked it! See you all again. Outstanding experience. We chose to celebrate some birthdays with a High Tea on the Silver Bullet from the Gympie Railway Station to Dagun. A two and a half hour return trip. As a group of four we enjoyed outstanding service, generous food choices, beautiful scenery and a knowledgeable commentary. Having been on a Rattler run once as a child, I knew that it would be a perfect anniversary surprise for my train-loving partner - and we were absolutely not disappointed! Not only is the actual train super charming and the scenery beautiful, but the volunteers really made the journey so enjoyable - particularly Lee, who was immensely friendly and helpful. Also, the bumpy ride is so much fun, and we got a kick out of hearing the steam whistle every time! I genuinely reccommend this as a fun, relaxing family day out!

As a railfan, I have to say that this was the best heritage railway I have ever had the pleasure of riding. The carriages were very clean and comfortable, and the seats were also very clean. The carriage I was on was a former QR carriage. The staff were very amazing and kind. My carriage was staffed by Rodney, who was lovely and was very good at explaining the history and landmarks of the area.Gympie and Amamoor stations were both very clean and the platforms had tactile edge markers for sight-impaired persons. In conclusion, the experience was amazing and I would highly suggest that you take a trip on the Mary Valley Rattler.

Had a great time on the rattler with my Wife, Mum, and 2 kids.We got stuck in school holiday traffic and made it to the station 10 minutes before departure when we were supposed to be 45 minutes before. This proved no problem as we had rang ahead to explain the situation and the friendly staff put my mind at ease. This was my first time on a real steam train since I was a kid and it was really enjoyable. Lots of good commentary on the trip to Amamoor and back by Lee.The weather was 30c when we left on the 1:30pm departure and the windows were down the whole way for the full experience. It was warm on the train but not uncomfortably so as the windows worked a treat. We even had steam come in the carriages at times which was a bit of fun.I would highly recommend the experience and will do it again one day myself.

It was nice to see the Mary Valley up close as we have only driven past this area. The turn-a-round was at Dagun. The Mary Valley Rattler experience is a hidden gem and we would recommend it. The Steam Train looks inviting ... a future prospect down the track.

The Wizard Express was pure magic! From stepping onto Platform 9¾ to seeing everyone in their wizarding best, it felt like we were on our way to Hogwarts. The atmosphere was electric, with Gryffindors, Slytherins, and even a few Death Eaters on board. The staff volunteers were CHARIM-ING, and the whole experience was STUPEFYING. Whether you're a Potterhead or just after a fun day, this event is an absolute must. 10 points to Mary Valley Rattler!

Great experience! We appreciated the trip on the beautifully and detailed restored steam train a lot! Those wooden cars with them old red comfy seat benches made all the difference. Hopping in the driver cabin of the locomotive, getting everything explained by the proud experienced driver was amazing!Kudos to the team of volunteers and those thousands of hours they put in to have everything in good service today! Highly recommend!!

Well we loved it, what a great day the service was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and engaging. The train ride was excellent, very peaceful and relaxing. We did not order from the cafe, would have been good to know there was food available on the train to purchase, I didn't see this anywhere on the website, maybe I missed it?We had a booking for 4 but my parents car broke down and couldn't make it, I received a credit on the day which I was very happy about, thank you.I would highly recommend; it was such a lovely experience.

Pleasant return trip from Gympie to Dugan through some very scenic countryside. We had high tea, but that wasn’t the highlight and felt it was a little underwhelming and overpriced. Very friendly service by the volunteers. I would still recommend to others.

The Gympie Gold Mining and Historical Museum is a heritage museum located on the eastern side of Lake Alford, showcasing artifacts from the region's gold mining history. The museum features displays related to rural life, military history, transportation, communication, and steam development in Australia. Visitors can explore various exhibits housed in different sheds and buildings, including heavy machinery used in gold mining and railway operations. Additionally, the museum offers a unique experience where visitors can try panning for gold themselves.
Was a very interesting visit. Lots of information for the various displays in the individual old buildings/houses. Lots of old artifacts with many donations by local families from the area. Got a personal tour of a new display in the works. Can pan for gold, which is a big part of the towns history. The Cafe was good for lunch, we had the special, pork rolls. Plenty of drinks to choose from, ice creams for the kids too. We spent about 2.5hrs looking around...there's a lot to look at for the history buffs. Well worth a visit.

It's much bigger than you think. The lady at the counter said that and we didn't believe her. It's massive. It was a sunny day and I ended up getting a migraine but I did manage to see all the buildings, they are so well maintained. All this for just a $10 or $12 entry fee. You would probably need a few hours to fully check it out and read everything about this place. It's a once or twice in your lifetime kind of a place.
Darshini S — Google review
Zero staff available, zero information provided and half the buildings were still closed due to 2022 floods. All the kids wanted to do was learn how to pan for gold but the two staff on were struggling to keep up with the 3 customers that wanted coffee and had no interest in museum customers. 100% self guided and there are a few things kids might be interested in but definitely not worth the $30 admission as you get absolutely nothing for it other than a walk around some old stuff.

Lovely quirky very different place. Pan for gold and check out plenty of local history. Great people (mostly volunteers I think) working here, with lots of information.Lovely little cafe with good food. Plenty of parking on site too.Went with parents and my kids. Everyone had fun!

Kids loved seeing all of the historical items. It was very well laid out and got a kick out of the Fire Truck shed! The best part was panning for gold. It really was a good morning out. The staff and volunteers were so friendly - their dedication shows.

Great place to spend 2-3 hours learning about the history of Gympy during the gold rush. There's also lots of historical military displays. There's a cafe located at the main entrance - staff were friendly.
Roland R — Google review
A nice place to stop for a quick look around. There’s lots of vintage mining equipment, vehicles, and a gold panning area. Reasonable for an hour or two, but otherwise fairly limited. A small cafe on site, and a nice park nearby for a walk too.

Excellent heritage museum, much more than just gold mining.

Absolutely lovely place to visit if you are on the way to tin can bay. Friendly staff and nice cafe at the front. Great history of early mining history of Gympie. Family friendly and heaps for the little one to discover.

Nice staff. ‘Lost’ our order. We were waiting over 3/4 hr. Eventually my wife bravely went up to ask. We were told they lost our order. So some of the food I had ordered was no longer available.Maybe they need more staff? Or manager?Bless their hearts.

A fantastic look into the past, with history in every step. Looking forwards to bringing a school trip here!Helpful guides, a fantastic cafe and a great historical experience

The cafe staff demonstrated questionable, poor food handling practices. The hygiene and food safety protocols should be checked by an inspector here some time.Secondly, the woman serving wasn’t very friendly in her interactions with customers and the atmosphere felt unattractive and uncomfortable.

This museum is great. If you are curious and like the machinery of the past it’s a must. Why hadn’t I heard about it? I have passed by a hundred times. Well done volunteers.

Fantastic place. Got myself a proper genuine aussie burger for the first time in years, and all the food was top-notch. The view is good and the staff were very nice and accommodating of our 2 year old.

What a seriously good collection of artifacts and information about the region. Well done Gympie for celebrating your achievements. Some great memories, which without this museum would be lost to us all. Of note was the wonderful story behind how the Australian Light Horse came to wear the emu feathers in their hats. Without a visit, wouldn't have known that. Keep up the good work and it is important that people keep donating to the collection to keep the towns rich history alive. The café is nice way to unwind before or after the museum. Was pleased we ordered the wedges and sandwich, both enjoyable and a decent portion size. Thanks ladies.

This is a great place to visit. I believe it is run by volunteers who do a terrific job. The cafe is operated by some lovely ladies and has a homely feel to it. Coffee is good too!
Peter B — Google review
I went to the cafe and ordered a veggie pie. I can honestly say it was the worst food I have ever had. The filling tasted like a previous customer had ordered the same pie, eaten it, hated it and then vomited back up - only for them to reuse it as filling for my pie. If reincarnation is real, then I clearly murdered a pie chef in a previous life. For that I am sorry. But not as sorry as I am for ordering this pie.
Stuart T — Google review
Really enjoyed the exposition covering a wide range of local history from the Gold Rush, Mining, Railway history, farming, schools, etc. Sad to see the museum seems to be heavily affected by the 2022 floods some exhibitions vanished (like the scouts or the model railway), some seem in dire need of upkeep (especially the ones on the lower section of the museum). Still, good job & good luck! 🤞

Whenever we take a drive through the Sunshine Coast hinterland we always stop for an ice cream and buy some of the cheeses 🧀 from here. They have a large range of cheeses and small goods, the ice creams 🍦are really tasty. The small town of Kenilworth and the Kenilworth Dairies are well worth a visit when your up this way.

Over 18gm sugar in a 100gm serve of yoghurt. My kids might as well eat ice cream!! The ingredients list is a joke too, right?I split up with my partner a few weeks ago, so I can’t tell him not to buy this for my kids anymore, but I can certainly tell you what I think. You’re poisoning people. I couldn’t even buy half the ‘ingredients’ in this yoghurt from the shops myself. You should be ashamed of yourselves for putting your own enterprise and wealth before the health and well-being of people. What happened to milk, live culture, fermentation, fruit and perhaps honey? Or even a small amount of sugar. (Not 6 teaspoons in a tiny serving.)

They were great but the last few months I feel there is something that has changed in their quality with the mousse. This has happened on a few too many occasions

I had the salted caramel chocolate mousse and I've had better packet mixes. The mouse was too gelatinous. The eating area was lovely.

Stopped in for morning tea today. Have been a couple of times before. Always have the nicest cheese but today we also stopped for cuppa and scones. The scones were so soft and fluffy and tasted amazing. Would definitely be back. And as usual the cheese is delicious. A definite must when in the area. Have also become addicted to their salted caramel chocolate mousse. Lucky I don’t live close enough to visit too often. A really big recommendation to try the mousse.

There's nothing quite like a scenic drive through the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and our Sunday adventure led us to an absolute gem – Kenilworth Dairies cafe. The journey itself was a delight, winding our way up through the charming town of Maleny, cruising through Baloomba, and following the early twists and turns of the Mary River, we felt the week's stress melt away.Upon arriving in the picturesque town of Kenilworth, we were greeted by the quaint and inviting atmosphere of the Kenilworth Dairies cafe and decided to have a look. With an appetite for something local and authentic, we decided on the Cheese Platter for two, and let me tell you – it was a decision well made! The platter was a cheese lover's utopia, boasting an absolutely delicious selection of local cheeses that were the perfect match to the fresh, succulent fruit accompanying them. Each bite was a testament to the quality and care put into their locally made produce. For anyone seeking the quintessential hinterland experience, or just a fabulous weekend drive with a tasty destination, I highly recommend making a stop at Kenilworth Dairies cafe. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!Bonus Tip for the Adventurous Foodies 🧀: After you've snagged your delectable cheese platter for two, take a scenic drive north of Kenilworth and head towards the serene Borumba Dam. It's the perfect picturesque area for a romantic picnic or a chill day out with your friends!

Just threw the chocolate mousse in the bin. It looked lumpy with air pockets but the taste was terrible. Checked the expiration and it's way in date. No words to describe the flavour or the texture. Terribly disappointed.

Large amount of chicken on it. $12Coffee was good. $5However BEST ICECREAM I have ever tasted since I was in a Tasmanian National Park 10 years ago! $7.50Creamy, delicious natural flavours and large portions for the price.Had coconut and lime/coconut scoops.Would have bought some to take home but long distance to drive.Bought cheese and yoghurt to take home in $10 cool bag with $2 ice pack.

I always like to give the benefit of the doubt, but the customer service was atrocious.Firstly, after a reallly slow moving line the girl serving asked me my ice cream order 3x then i was handed buzzer to wait, for an ice cream!Anyway, sat down to wait seeing all the other orders coming out, so after about 10 minutes i went up to ask what was going on. Stated my order and was met with utter confusion by another male staff member, "we don't sell mint choc chip"..he said, looking around at other staff for help....I was taken by another staff member over to the ice creams, she pointed to a POS system stating it was on the wait list but would be about 15 minutes additional wait , again, for ice cream that she was standing in front of and could have just dealt with (there was no cue by this time) coffees and take away hot food was coming out far faster. We had to leave, so i asked for a refund and to purchase a pre made ice cream from the cooler for $4.50 instead. I had paid by card but the staff member said she didn't know how to refund onto card .... counted out $6.50 in small change. Why she couldn't give me the $2 difference between the two items is beyond me. Anyway, i then gave her the $5 back needing 50c change to pay for my $4.50 packet ice cream and it seemed that finding that change was a drama as well, so we just left.Staff need training (and common sense), more staff need to be put on, to manage different aspects (someone on coffees, someone on hot food, someone on order taking and someone on ice creams....what a debacle.

Great place to visit with reasonable prices but be mindful that is a very busy and popular spot.It was a very long wait to receive ice-cream in a cone. We were pleasantly surprised when we were given 2 scoops instead of the one scoop of ice-cream that we had ordered. It was great to see that they are pro-active in rewarding customers for waiting so long. Definitely returning with esky to stock up on milk, yoghurt and cheese.

We bought chilli cheddar cheese and tried to grate on a pizza and it was like playdough and turned to mush… strange texture. #fail

A lovely day trip from the coast. Friendly relaxed vibe. The cheese tasting box was delicious - a variety of yummy and unique flavoured cheeses. Well priced and a nice selection of their cheeses/yoghurts and local pantry items to buy. Recommend 👍🏻 dog friendly too!

A lovely dairy with a cafe and outdoor seating. Huge selection of cheeses, jams, sauces, ice cream etc. I purchased some lime and coconut ice cream which was delicious but the pineapple and coconut one tasted sour, not sure if that’s just because of the pineapple? Lovely service with a smile.

Absolutely disappointing, as a local I always want to support local business! Our order for brunch was lost, the menu displayed breakfast (not available) so ordered BLT, a pissy bit of Turkish Bread with next to nothing on it, so $37 later, I was not happy, will never recommend 🤬
Jennifer M — Google review
I used to love their chocolate mousse, but lately it’s been gluggy and wet and not at all fluffy. At first I chucked it out thinking I must have left it to curdle accidentally, but I bought two more today and both were bad. They also no longer have the chocolate shavings on the top. My husband seemed to think it was fine but it tastes off to me now. But still just as expensive. No longer worth it unfortunately, I’ll be looking elsewhere for my new favourite mousse.
Toni M — Google review
Sad to say. Very disappointing. Day old bread and they took wrong order - but can't confirm because they don't issue receipts and you just get an aggressive buzzy thing to go and collect item yourself with as little interaction with staff as possible. Cheese box is selection of soft cheddar with various experimental flavours

On recommendation of our host we reserved a table for lunch on Saturday. Was a good idea as very busy. Beautiful restaurant and our meals were delicious. Would liked to have finished with a desert but no room left. The setting & surrounds are beautiful. Had a wine tasting after lunch & couldn't resist purchasing some wine to bring home. Very nice place to visit.

Some very interesting (and somewhat unique!) red wines that we tried, in a lovely venue. Plenty of outdoor seating, play areas for the kids and wine tasting options inside. Staff seemed a little busy and not the friendliest service, but overall a nice vineyard to visit. Food closed around 3PM so we didn't get to try unfortunately, and the hotel looked reasonable too.

We enjoyed a great family lunch [with our dog] in the beer garden of the Dusty Hill Winery Irish Tavern on Easter Sunday. What a fun place! Lots of trees and lake in the garden to provide shade for tables. Lots of people and dogs. You can also sit inside if preferred. Service was excellent and the food delicious. There is plenty of parking and a shop with fantastic local goods on the premises and you can also do wine tasting at the cellar door. A great day out!

As a full time wedding entertainer I travelled here to do my first wedding last weekend, and I was blown away. The place is stunning! The food was amazing, the staff were terrific and the Function manager Miranda totally saved my bacon by lending me her laptop for the night as I’d left mine behind. Seriously, nothing was too much trouble for this eager young team of professionals! it was a great team effort to deliver an amazing experience for David and Alahna. I can’t wait to return. Thankyou!

What a beautiful place, the accommodation looks lovely - cant vouch for it, didnt stay there. I just popped in to try a few wines. The one staff member on saturday afternoon asked me if i was checking in, I let her know I just wanted to try a couple of wines, to which she responded (with a sigh) - well you'll have to wait I've got 2 groups to do first. She proceeded to serve the groups and I left never to return. Dont want to be where I'm obviously and inconvenience.

Down at Joe's R*pe and Gr*pe (if you know, you know), they would rather charge you for a plate you didn't order than admit they made a mistake, and then overcharge everybody for BYO cake just to rub it in on your birthday. We made a tradition of coming out here for birthdays, I guess we will have to try the other Vinyard nearby!

We spent 3 nights in a restored cottage at Dusty Hill Vineyard. The cottage retains its historical identity while introducing a blend of contemporary comforts. The design choices contributed to a comfortable atmosphere. The cottage is positioned to overlook a lily pond. It was so peaceful to look at the lily pond and watch the local wildlife. We were pleasantly surprised to find a large breakfast platter and a fresh loaf of bread in the cottage. We were planning to visit Lake Barambah during our stay but we got sidetracked by the beautiful pool located on the property. The wine tasting was a fun experience. I personally enjoyed the Classic Wine and Fortified Verdelho. If you're looking for a family weekend away, Dusty Hill Vineyard is an excellent choice.
Siobhan G — Google review
In response.. the honey is lovely .. the complaint was around being told it was a locally produced product... you didn't appear to know where it was exact from as you were reading the label on the jar!! We recently visited Dusty Hill and bought a lovely bottle of Verdelho. As big supporters of local businesses, we were excited to buy a jar of what we were told was local honey. However, we later discovered while dining at another nearby winery that the honey actually comes from Fergo’s Farm in Brisbane, about 180 km away. While I'm sure the honey will be tasty, it's disappointing and misleading to present it as a local product. Had we known, we wouldn’t have purchased it. Honesty about product origins is important – unfortunately, we won’t be back

What an incredible place. Attended Dusty Day Out yesterday and it was just a fantastic day. The staff were incredibly attentive with no empty glass sitting for more than a few minutes. Even with 400 people the food was fast and hot and delicious, they didn't miss a beat. The venue is beautiful with so many gorgeous little touches and accents. I'd love to come back outside of festival time to really get to know the details.

We have stayed in the house over looking the pond it was immaculate. Very modern, all the kitchen utilities and great breakfast platter was included that lasted us two days. We saw kangaroos everywhere and 4 friendly geese! We had lunch at the Tavern pub just 2 min walk and a huge pool that we had all to ourselves. The lake was huge and we same across it and saw wild horses. Highly recommended this vineyard.

Good size menu with a lot of variety and specials. Needed somewhere cheap to stay and found this little gem tucked away. The service from the girls behind the bar was impeccable, even on a very busy Friday night. Well done! The Food was delicious and served hot and fresh. I had a Chicken Schnitzel with Chips, Homemade Slaw and Diane Sauce. Would definitely recommend a meal here. The Room was comfortable and adequate for a solo traveller like myself. There were two single beds and the one I slept in was comfortable and I slept like a log. The linen was clean and fresh. My only issue with the room was the lack of air conditioning, however it wasn't a hot or particularly warm day (for me anyway) and the night was cool so the ceiling fan and the window slightly open was more than enough. Summer might be a different story. There were also a few cobwebs in the corners but I didn't see any freeloaders (Spiders). The Shower in the men's toilets down the corridor was also cold however given there was only one shower cubicle, I'm wondering if a few people had used it before me and the hot water hadn't warmed up again.Would definitely come here again.

Lunch on a rainy day. Pretty venue, food was tasty, but staff need training. We ordered a Vietnamese beef salad and a pasta. We requested salad to come first with share plates, pasta to come put separately as a "main"The salad came out, no share plates, no cutlery to serve with, asked to share, girl brought 1 plate not 2, still no serving cutlery. Moments later out came pasta, 1 plate no serving utensils. She expected us to eat out of the salad bowl as our extra dish. I asked if the pasta could be kept under the lamp whilst we ate the salad. She rolled her eyes and took the pasta away, she was never to be seen again. We had to collect it ourselves when we had finished the salad.

All round a good pub withvery tasteful renovations .I stayed the night in a room with shared facilities. The room was better than most basic hotel rooms and was reasonably priced ,with the bathroom very clean. All in all one of the better country pubs .

Had a nice counter meal. It came out quite quickly when though the place was full! However, the pulled pork burger was so smothered in BBQ sauce it was impossible to taste the meat. Also, the membership system wasn't working, so I was unable to get member pricing on my meal.

Always a good meal to.be had at our local pub. Service is always friendly and meals are scrumptious, generous portions and come out so quickly, no hour wait here. Love the different rooms you can dine in, including the outdoor area which gives you different dining experiences. Well worth a visit.

Lovely setting, cosy cafe with great views. Staff is so friendly, great atmosphere all round. Toasty came with hot chips. Plenty of motorcycle memorabilia, helmets, bikes, toys, plates, badges.

Amazing views and seating area! Really, just the best place for a restaurant. Try and get a seat on the balcony but bring your jumper if it’s winter because it’s chilly out of the sunshine. Food was good - I had the chicken BLT and it was a big portion, lots of fresh lettuce & tomato 😊 Bit of a wait on a busy day but the staff are really lovely and efficient otherwise! Love the aesthetic inside and there is a good amount of parking along the gravel area for both bikes & cars.

Been twice, first time we went after 11am and had the burger. Was pretty good, however today we went for breakfast and was extremely disappointing the mushroom dish for $28 had one piece of toast which was toasted only on one side and soggy, the mushrooms were sparse and watery. So bad the meal was left un eaten. Shame, feels like there was no chef today. May return to try the burgers again.

Food was a bit over priced and greasy, just there for the view pretty much. Just for two people eating, it was $60 and the food was so oiled up, coffee milkshake was basically just two paper cups with coffee and milk mixed in. Definitely an awesome relaxing view and atmosphere.

Stopped in to grab a late breakfast on a weekday in June, and they wouldn't cook the eggs in my requested meal how I wanted them (poached), OK then. They only offer fried or scrambled on weekdays but will do eggs how ever you want on the weekend. I asked why, and I wont bore you with the reply, it was lame, and would turn me off having poached eggs the way they explained they did them. They also won't make a milkshake on a weekday, which just seemed crazy, the customer behind me in line starting laughing at this point, as I then proceeded to ask if they are capable of frying bacon. The food I got was average and for the price was insane. I have paid only $5 more and had a fantastic breakfast at Salt. Won't waste my time and money again, I will just keep on riding passed.

Great place for a pit stop and feed! Great view and service. Plenty of parking and toilets available.I only had the chicken burger and wasn't impressed as the chicken patty was extremely thin and the batter was almost soggy. The chips were good though.

A bit disappointed, have loved this place since I was very young. Always come long ways for the thickshakes as they’re some of the best!Always have come on a weekday for them as my partner works weekends, yesterday we did just that and they said they don’t do milkshakes/thickshakes on weekdays…quite odd as the girl said it was because they’re wasn’t enough staff for them…Hope they change that rule back so we can come and enjoy on a weekday like we always have

Pitstop cafe hosted our post wedding brunch at very short notice, when our previous venue cancelled. Michelle and the team set up an amazing spread of food and drinks and were brilliant with their service. The cafe also had a beautiful view over the valley and across to Brisbane. Would highly recommend.

Did a uturn and dropped in on a ride for a coffee and cake. Despite huge place and being nowhere near busy they insisted on seating me, but apart from that it was great.Lots of biking decor, the coffee and cake were good and the service was friendly. The ambience is great if you're into motorbikes or morning in general and the view is amazing.Highly recommend as a stop during a ride out. It helps that it's on s very popular biking route.

For your first tandem skydive, I recommend ramblers skydive drop zone, very professional in all aspects of your first tandum, tandem, experienced jump masters, aircraft are of high standard, either Homer the yellow Cessna caravan or Marge the white Cessna caravan. I has completed 7 tandem jumps.one per year.Could I suggest from feedback from fellow tandem first time jumpers.to book two jumps for yourself on that day ,cause after your first jump any anxiety will disappear after your first jump. You will more than enjoy your 2nd. Jump.Just do it ,and see you around the drop zone sometime

The staff are awesome, helpful and made it easy for my 14yr as to jump, and it wasn’t as scary as I thought!!! For my 50th this was my chosen activity for the family. They loved it too. It was nice to see a smile on the boys faces after they came back down to earth. We all don’t like heights but this was great. It also has a beautiful area to camp if you want to spend more than a day out there. It’s such a lovely area. Thankyou

Pretty disappointed and angry about the whole experience and situation with Skydive Ramblers... I booked myself in about 6 weeks back from this date, the jump was my 40th birthday present from my partner, family and friends, tandem jump with video recording and photos included, so not a cheap experience. we made sure to be out there for the weekend, so we all booked a camp site close to Ramblers. This is a 2 hour drive from home. The jump was booked for the Saturday morning, remembering this was booked about 6 weeks ago, I received a phone call on Friday morning after setting up camp and was advised that they didn't have an available instructor to tandem with me..., first sign of them being disorganised and unprofessional. The jump was rescheduled for 1000 the next day. I accepted that being the case and cakculated to leave camp early to accommodate the change. I dropped in on the Saturday afternoon to make sure everything was still a go and make sure I had everything sorted to be here at the right time. I was told everything had been confirmed for a 1000 jump but if I got there earlier that I could be put on a earlier jump. We packed up 2 vans and a tent and were at Ramblers by 8:30am, signed in and all paid up. We were told to wait in the courtyard for my name to be called. So I started waiting. At this point we watched a group if about 6 jumpers that signed in behind me suit up and head across to wait for the next flight, so i thought I'd be next and continued to wait my turn... and i waited and waited some more. All the time no communication from staff. After watching another 3 plane loads of regular jumpers and staff members that basically do this on a daily, get off the plane and jump back on the next flight for another jump, we made enquiries and was told that we would be in flight 5...flight 4 came and went. At 11:30am I was told that no more jumps will be happening due to windy weather,... but having just watch regular jumpers and staff members go time and time again and then be told that's it basically it for the day, or you can hang around all day "just in case" was not good enough, especially when paying and planning the whole weekend around this experience and 40th birthday present! Having staff members laugh it off, not handle the situation well at all, really takes away from wanting to do it again..So I would not recommend booking or doing a tandem jump with Ramblers, they were very unprofessional, did not put paying customers first and it appears that if you're not a mate of the staff or a member of a skydiving club, youll be at the bottom of the list to jump.
Matt D — Google review
Had a fantastic time, Ty was my instructor, kept me informed every step of the way, my only criticism, it was all over to quickly (not really, I was having so much fun).

Did my first skydive with my family. The big adrenaline wave from the feet dangling off the airplane, quick jolt from the parachute releasing and some solid turns on our way down was intense but all worth it! I was quite scared and worried about different things going wrong but my instructor Adrian's humour and warmth helped with my anxiety. The overall experience, from booking to diving, was seamless and the team is very competent and friendly. This was indeed an adventure of a lifetime. Go experience yours!

Mountain home to ancient bunya pines revered by Aboriginal people, plus rare birds & flowers.
A very popular and extensive picnic area adjacent the Bunya Mountains National Park trail entry. A lot of vehicle parking adjacent electric BBQ style picnic areas. Water points nearby, but not suitable for drinking without treatment. Toilet and hand washing facilities with disability access. Trail head starting point for a number of walks from just a few minutes to hours. Plus a large mob of wallabies.

We did the Koondaii track with viewing platform, accessed via the Westcott carpark. Toilets onsite, along with various BBQs (though you need to bring your own wood) and heaps of parking. Gorgeous road to actually get to Bunya Mountains we went on a cloudy day and it was really spectacular. The Track when we went was very muddy having rained 30mm in the last couple of days , but our kids had fun. Track is approx 2.1km circuit with a few steps otherwise track is clearly defined.

If the idea of wandering around (on well established paths) amongst some iconic Australian pines, then this would be a great place for you. If not, then head to Manly and gaze at the Norfolk Island pines 😀. I went along a 3.3km walk from near the visitors centre - and really enjoyed the walk (in June). I would not recommend it if you have mobility issues though.

I was also here in the Bunya's for a few days. Getting there was fascinating. The avenue up to the park from Dalby in the fog was really like something out of a fairy tale. The national park is not extremely big, you can hike through it in 1 day. There are a handful of short hiking trails through the forest. There are a few small waterfalls and beautiful fig trees. You can even walk through one, which is great too. Be careful, there are lots of Red Bellied Snakes, especially at the pools. I wouldn't recommend hiking there with sandals. You can also encounter some wallabies. There are also 2 good viewing points from which you have a beautiful view of the valleys. What is particularly impressive are the huge Bunya Trees that are everywhere in the park. You should definitely pay attention to the weather, it can change suddenly even in summer and there can be violent storms in the park.I thought the park was pretty nice but unfortunately I only had some good weather.

A serene spot for nature lovers, Bunya Mountains National Park offers a calm retreat from city life. The trails are well-marked, with moderate difficulty. Expect to see a fair amount of wildlife, particularly wallabies and various bird species. The park isn’t overly crowded, which is a bonus. However, the views are pleasant but not mind-blowing. Good for a day trip or a peaceful hike, but nothing that will leave you in awe.
Eliza C — Google review
Approximately 3.5 hours north of west of Brisbane. An excellent place to get away for the weekend with lots of natural tracks, great sunrise and sunset views, good accommodations, many local fauna and if you are lucky you might see some fire flies when dusk sets in. Only negative is that wifi signal is not very good for majority of this national park.

The highlight is definitely the ancient bunya trees, which give the park its unique character. The walking trails range from easy to moderately challenging, so there’s something for everyone. I appreciated the clear signage and well-maintained paths, which made exploring hassle-free. The wildlife, particularly the wallabies, was a nice bonus, as they seem comfortable around humans but not intrusive. That said, I did find the lack of amenities to be a slight drawback—there are limited places to grab a bite, so it's wise to bring your own snacks. If you're into camping, this is a great spot, but for a casual day trip, it may feel a bit out of the way.

Went there on a not so fabulous day. Was a nice drive though but was during the wet weeks and the road there is narrow and was a little dangerous with a few debris along the way. Had to stop and remove fallen tree branches on road which previous vehicles had just driven around off road to avoid 😒 The trail entrances were closed off due to wet weather so, just had some snacks and coffee at the café then just browsed nearby. Had a few kangaroos that came out to say g’day 😁 Will try visiting again when it’s a much better weather for a nice hike 🙂

Cowboy up is a fantastic place to go trail riding. They have the most beautiful scenery, the best horses, and amazing service. You go all over their block, ride up and down hills, past dams and gully’s, and you get to trot. Their horses are the most amazingly mannered horses I have ever met. They are extremely well looked after and there is such a wide range of horses that they choose very specifically to suit you. Gill and Peter are so kind and very very helpful. You do not have to be an experienced rider, they go through everything you need to know and they even teach you how to trot. Cowboy up is amazing and I highly recommend it. I will definitely be back.

My cousin and I booked a 2 hour trail ride for Sunday, the weather was a little overcast and rainy, but nonetheless, it was such a beautiful experience! I had the absolute pleasure of riding Belle, she was very patient with me and was the most comfortable well mannered horse I've ever ridden with such a cheeky and sweet personality. Peter and Gill were so welcoming and made me feel safe at all times. They are clearly passionate about the experience they offer and the lifestyle, they are great teachers, extremely talented riders (obviously), and always had a good laugh which made me feel right at home. I have had very little riding experience in my life, however by the end of it I was confident and comfortable in the saddle - even trotting!! I cannot wait to go back and will be booking in as much as possible. Cannot recommend Cowboy Up enough! A truly wholesome and magical experience! LOVED IT!Thankyou so much Peter & Gill!

Great easy sections for beginners, there is also more difficult sections for those that want a little bit of challenge, super scenic along most of the trail, great for family walks or rides

Not bad for a walk bits and pieces of shade. My Wife and myself are thinking of taking our bikes for a ride along part of it. You may see more reviews in the coming months.

I have rode it and it was fantastic, however i have also walked it and you must have good hiking boots as it can be rocky. Overall would highly recommend doing both.

Great displays of different machinery and trucks. It's not very big, about a 15 minute walk around. No aircon in the room, just big industrial fans that blow hot air. It's not worth the $8 for admission if you don't live in the area, a Gold coin donation would be more suited.

We had morning tea in the cafe after visiting the Transport museum.Highly recommend the iced coffee and milkshakes here... Made just like they used to be in the 70's and 80's, strong flavours and lots of ice cream and cream. I haven't had an iced coffee like this one in a long long time.

We decided to drive down the range and check out this cultural centre ( mainly for the transport museum). The building is large, open, and welcoming, housing a local art gallery, a library, and a huge eatery as well. The transport museum was small, but had some interesting exhibits and a little of the trucking history of the region. The gallery of cool photos of local iconic people was also fascinating. Friendly staff and a pleasant vibe made our visit worthwhile and fun!

Queensland Museum Cobb+Co in Toowoomba is a local history museum that showcases the national collection of vehicles, particularly from the horse-drawn era. It's part of Queensland Museum and features a wide array of horse-drawn vehicles, archaeological artifacts, and historical Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander objects. The museum offers something for all ages to enjoy and learn about Toowoomba's rich history dating back to the early 1800s.
Visited a few times and love this place. Weekend was quieter than expected, whilst school holidays were busy. Plenty to keep the kids occupied, restaurant food excellent and staff all lovely. Great to see additional activities running for school holidays. As someone from the UK, I’d love to see more information about aboriginal history and culture as a permanent feature as currently there is only one small room. Definitely worth a visit!
Laura G — Google review
The museum is trip down the memory lane. The story of cobb and Co and evolution of horse drawn carts through the years is mesmerising. The workshop where Everthing is restored is a great place to learn some old techniques before technology took over. The science section is icing on the cake. Great for the kids to learn some physics in actual settings. Please take some time to pay a visit and you won't be disappointed... PS.. They serve great coffee in the cafe😊😁

This museum is a must see for anyone with even an inkling of historical questions on Australia's early years. All of the wagons, buggies and Sulkies lovingly restored, many in house. A true glimpse into our past. To hear the stories of our past, and personally longing for a return to those simpler days, makes me happy that we can still visit the past. The in house work shops are no joke either! We spoke to a wheelwright who was working on a " 1800's farm ute" to use his words. Rebuilt from little more than a pile of scrap steel and rotten timber, it is truly a sight to behold. Hats of to the staff, it is an amazing place to visit. Highly recommend going to have a look 😊😊.

Lovely museum in the city of Toowoomba right next to Queen's Park. Entry for tourists $12.50 or $32 for family. So many different carriages, science displays etc. Can easily spend 2-3 hours inside.

Queens Park Toowoomba is a sprawling 26.3-hectare park in the city center known for its historic botanical garden and vibrant events like the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and Food and Wine Festival. The park features family-friendly sections, including playgrounds, sports fields, an off-leash dog park, and picnic areas. Just starting out in the world of mobile photography, how fortunate am I to have this treasure so close to work and home. Service: staff not trained how to serve by not reaching across customersFood: so disappointing as we had enjoyed lunch there the last time about a year agoTold on phone there were several vegan options but only one on menu ( a salad which did not match description on menu - where was the pomegranate molasses dressing ( when we,asked about the lack of dressing, given a small bowl of balsamic!!!)Salad consisted of rocket with a tiny serve of chickpeas and a bit of puree with lots of red onion on top (note: no mention of this in menu description)Hot chocolate tasted like warm water with a bit of chocolate powder mixed in.

It is great restaurant and cafe. I went there yesterday when Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers on. The place is beautifully presented with great views of the city.I do that lots of places now charge for surcharges when cards is in use to pay. The male staff who served me at the counter is wonderful taking orders for my afternoon tea. As I pay for the bill I mentioned that I wish it would be great if staffs tells the customer that surcharges will apply. Even before the male staff would response to my comment(or not to comment and do the jobs), one of female staff abruptly came to the counter and pointed finger on the monitor of casher saying surcharge application notice is on it. I am very disappointed how she say it in such rude manner with tone of voice. It just ruined my day. Great customer service. Well done to that staff. Thanks 😆

The food was a bit disappointing. My pulled pork burger (and chips) was so dry! Would have been much better if served with more sauce in it or mixed in with the pulled pork itself. I couldn’t actually see or ask any sauce at all. Also, my bun appeared to have had a thumb go through it during its preparation. The setting and view here is gorgeous and there were plenty of tables. Staff who greeted us were lovely. However we noticed several of the tables were not cleared or wiped down from previous customers… yet when there’s several wait staff and only a few customers, how can this occur? My friends mentioned the sweets they had were a bit too rich/sugary. Big serving size though. There are plenty of birds around so just be mindful of your food as some can be a bit sneaky. But for the health of the birds follow the signs ie deliberately feed them anything. Would i return??? I’d say “maybe”, but only to try the Devonshire tea and scones. Definitely room for improvement here.

A nice venue with a great view. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, perfect for a casual meal. The food is generally okay but lacks a bit of flair. Service is friendly, though it can be a bit slow when the place is busy. It’s a decent choice if you’re looking for a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal, but don’t go expecting anything extraordinary.

I have been there quite a few times; however, the last time was ten years ago. Being here today for lunch with my wife was simply awesome. Attentive and fast service, very friendly staff, no stress or panic; lovely setting; food was great, so was the ice coffee. Yes, nice views, lovely setting... and best of all a 'senior' menu (smaller portion and reduced price). Well worth a visit, considering the surounding park areas, waterfall (currently repaired; hence, no access from Oct to Dec 2023). Next time it won't be ten years to come back. :)

Terrific camping experience over the 2024 Easter break, amenities kept clean, regular campsite patrols and rubbish collection.Woolshed Activites seemed lackluster with a poor turnout, probably due to limited adversiting on website and social media, such a pity.

We recently stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it even though it rained quite a bit.The caretakers took time to explain everything and were very thorough. The grassed areas were well kept and the amenities very clean and tidy and obviously recently upgraded, very nice. There is also a building under construction that looks like it will be an impressive kitchen area. There was a fair number of powered sites and a huge number of unpowered sites. The unpowered site Calvert a huge area some marked out( up near toilets, showers etc) while there was basically find your own space down by the creek. Good options all round.I imagine it could get very busy during the holidays etc but we went during the week so was nice and quiet. The fee appears high but includes unlimited visits ( between certain times of course) to the woodshed museum great way to spend a nice pleasant couple of hours.

Formal Japanese-style university garden with a mountain-style stream, bridge & azalea-covered hill.
This Japanese Garden is a beautiful place to stroll. The central lake has very impressive wooden bridges with water birds swimming in the lake. The time when we visited the place only a few trees have blossomed but still they lent a beautiful ambience to this place. Over all a very satisfying experience.

I recently visited the Japanese Garden in Toowoomba, QLD, and found the scenery to be absolutely beautiful. The garden is designed with authentic Japanese architecture, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere that feels like a slice of Japan. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful walk and to enjoy nature’s beauty. However, one downside to the experience was the noticeable smell of duck and bird droppings throughout the garden. While the setting is gorgeous, the odors were a bit distracting and took away from the overall experience. Despite this, the garden’s beauty is undeniable, and it’s still worth a visit if you’re in the area.

A very beautiful Japanese Garden to walk around and take photos. So peaceful and brings you closer to nature. Clean, tidy and well maintained.I would 100% recommend this place to anyone
Max N — Google review
The gardens need some work to present a more authentic Japanese garden feel. However it was still a nice experience and there are some nice elements in the gardens. The ponds though need to be filtered and cleaned and the Ibis nest site is a real detractor.

Tranquil, spiritual, soothing, meditation.. These are the few words that comes in to mind when you describe the Japanese garden. No wonder Japanese people live long. It's breathtakingly beautiful. There are positive vibes everywhere. Towoomba is a garden city and Japanese garden is the most underrated of them all. Kudos to the university of Southern Queensland for maintaining and caring for such a marvel. Please, pay a visit and be amazed. 🙏

Our second visit to Toowoomba, and we always have a walk in this lovely park. Visit the area, you can have a picnic and family friendly! Plenty of parking and there are public restrooms too.

Lovely gardens to walk round. Very scenic and well kept.Nice spot for a picnic with roadside parking.Toilets on site but didn't see any refreshments.Definitely worth a visit.

We called in for a wonder. The gardens are lovely, plus well cared for. There are toilets as well. Places to sit and reflect scattered around the gardens. It is one of the best Japanese gardens we have visited.

The UniSQ Japanese Garden is a serene oasis that beautifully captures the essence of traditional Japanese landscaping. The meticulous arrangement of plants, stones, and water features creates a peaceful atmosphere, offering visitors a tranquil escape. The garden's design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also reflects a deep appreciation for nature and balance. It's a delightful destination for those seeking a moment of calm and cultural immersion.

Best Japanese gardens I have seen in Australia, even though some of it is fenced off for the construction of a new pavilion. A must see in Toowoomba.

A very attractive and tranquil corner of town. A credit to the team maintaining the garden. I'm starting to become involved in the world of mobile photography so will certainly return - I ran out of time this visit!

Lovely peaceful spot. Beautifully manicured and maintained.Well maintained paths and some areas without steps ideal for walkers or wheelchairs. But don’t enter through the USQ side as there are steps there.

We always love our trip to the Japanese Garden. It is a great place to take the dogs for a walk and enjoy the relaxing feel of the gardens, water features, and wildlife. The gardens are very well maintained, the amenities are very clean and tidy with a new toilet block recently built, lots of birds, including the majestic Ibis, who have their own little island in the middle of the lake. If you can, come in Spring as the Japanese Cherry Blossums will be blooming which is a beautiful sight.
Mitchell P — Google review
An absolute hidden gem in the suburbs of Toowoomba. Nestled between the UniSQ campus and suburbia, there is ample parking streetside. Entering the gardens seems to cut you off from the hustle bustle, and very quickly you’ll feel yourself calming. The gardens are a lovely representation of Japanese culture, and all components of the garden are well arranged. The walking tracks will take you leisurely around the grounds, and the central pond and many shaded areas give ample spots to stop, rest, reflect, even meditate. The bamboo creaks and knocks in light breeze, and the various water birds seem very content. A definite must-do if in or passing through Toowoomba. Take a break from modern life, grab a book or a picnic, and enjoy. And don’t forget to look for the little hidden gems around the garden.

It is just as beautiful to walk around and take photos as it was 25 years ago!!! Beautifully kept!!Great work ground's people!!!🤩

Such a beautiful display in a relatively small space that makes you feel like you could get lost in there with all of the different spaces they have created. We visited at the right time all of the colour of leaves at the ready to drop. I really like how well it integrates some Australian natives around the sides into the garden. Much worth the 300km drive.

The serene gardens allow you to sit and relax and forget about everything for a while. The new pavilion that overlooks the water is a wonderful addition to the garden.

This location is incredibly beautiful, however, there are concerns regarding pollution in the water within the tank and the inflow. It's important to address these environmental issues to maintain the natural beauty of the area.

A truly beautiful asset in Toowoomba, and a credit to those who imagined this, set it up so nicely and care for it.Having lived in Japan the difference here though is that there visitors show respect for the environment and others there and maintain a level of quietness that provides a sanctuary away from the bustle outside the gates.
Stuart A — Google review
Even in winter, this place is gorgeous. Highly manicured and a good mix of native and Japanese plants.
Chris C — Google review
Even though construction work was happening for the new tea house, the gardens still look fantastic. The water is lower to allow the construction machines safer access to the site.Towards the end of the day they knock off so the garden is peaceful until dusk. The running water features are very peaceful.

Great place for a dip in warm soft Artesian water. Has some pipe thongs that can really hit the spot. Highly recommend if you are ever in Moree. Lots of change rooms and lots of friendly people in the pools.
Campbell D — Google review
Two hot pools open at the moment while they are renovating two others. Fantastic clean facility with one pool at 40 degrees and the larger one at 30 degrees. Only $2 entry fee while the other two pools are being worked on. Coffee and sandwiches available after 10am. Only a few people there at 9:30 on Monday and even less when we left an hour later. Effervescence on the skin in the hot pool was fascinating. A credit to Moree, the staff and the community.
Derek A — Google review
Easy, accessible hot Artesian spa pool near a load of simple Moree motels. Works on one pool happening now - and a bit noisy. Great start for us early morning before a day back on the road north. Modestly priced. Friendly staff.
Tony M — Google review
If you’re looking for somewhere to relax, this is the place. There are three pools here each of varying temperatures to allow you to get your hot steamy water fix. Water gets in each pool and also a kiddies pool which was unfortunately not open at the time we visited. Lifeguards in attendance, and generally goodwill across all visitors.
Bob H — Google review
Hot Pool out of action for over a year, other pool's not hot enough. Waste of time, better off finding other pool's to visit.Intestate driver and seams every time I go through and have time the closed for some reason or another or only minimal use of facilities.Today it's no power.
Brian L — Google review
A lovely visit, hot springs pool and gloriously cool swimming pool with ample shade on a hot morning. Wonderfully enjoyed part of our holiday. I loved the information in the foyer and the familiarity of the entry steps just as they were 40 years ago, only newer and cleaner!
Kat S — Google review
If you are a swimmer, you will be extremely disappointed! Why? Because this facility currently doesnt have a 50m pool. It doesnt even have a 25m pool. It only offers a 20m sq wading pool and thermal pool which are woefully inadequate for all of Moree. Council awarded a contract over a year ago to Crystal Pools to build a new 50m pool but dont know when its gonna happen.
Peter F — Google review
Customer Service ExperienceI recently called to inquire about whether the spa would be open on Christmas and Boxing Day so we could plan our holidays. The person who answered, I believe his name was Clinton, informed me that the spa would not be open on those days and abruptly hung up. I tried calling back to clarify but my calls went unanswered. This left me feeling disappointed with the level of customer service, as it felt dismissive and unprofessional.
Alma T — Google review
Great facility to enjoy thermal water. With planned laps pool currently under construction, there would be even more reasons to visit. Nice VIP area with the sauna, however it it a bit small comparing to eqvivalent thermal waters facilities in Europe. Given much lower patronage it is quite adequate. It would be nice though to have few more saunas and perhaps an infrared cabin in the vip area.
Andrew G — Google review
Hot pools closed until further notice, and seem to have been closed quite regularly over a year or so. I rang today to find out what was open in the centre and was told "The cold pool."I asked if anything else in the entire centre was open and was told no.It's difficult to find out what is going on here. The website looks incredible and tells that a multi million dollar upgrade has been completed, but checking other reviews, it seems many facilities have been regularly closed for some reason over about 18 months.
Kerry L — Google review
I did post a conclusive review or at least I thought I did.Anyhoo.. extremely pleasant experience. Well worth going out of your way to visit. Comprehensive facilities, sauna, icy plunge bath, Artesian thermal pools,Gym,snacks, wellness options, water slide.etc.I could stay here for quite a while.I stayed at motel about 50m away, better to do that than stay at a motel with their own pool. That's my opinion anyway.
David S — Google review
Although the hotsprings was being upgraded we were able to access what was open and at a discounted price. Was very relaxing day with family
Kristy H — Google review
Friendly greetings from all rhe staff, cheap Cost $8 for 4 of us. Got in the 41 deg pool, it was just so relaxing. Then went around to the bigger pool that was 32 degs. Both pools were so enjoyable. Canteen was lovely we had chicken burgers and chips. Showers were a little run down but very hot. Finished up with a wonderful coffee when we left. Get day out.
Louise M — Google review
Helpful and friendly staff. Facilities are clean. If in Moree, this is a must do on your list. It has a kids water play area, a large slide (extra $4 per person unlimited times), an Olympic sized pool, 30 degrees warm water pool and two 45 degrees hot spring water pools. In the 45 degrees pools it's best not to remain in the water for more than 15 mins to avoid dehydration. The entrance has a shop for all swimming needs and a cafe. There are benches around the pools and also lawn on one side giving ample space for a picnic too.We stayed there for 3 hours and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend it.
Vivek B — Google review
The consistency is all over the place. It advertises it is open at 6am but we are left standing outside waiting to be let in after 6 at times. It is becoming very frustrating.
Helena D — Google review
Great place for a relaxing mineral dip. Staff where so helpful. Work being done to expand the facilities. Even have a towel hire for those who just walked in for a look.
Trevor — Google review
I would love to be able to give this place rave reviews because when you're in the hot water it feels like bliss. Unfortunately, there was only 1 small hot pool operational which was very crowded, the upkeep of the pools just doesn't seem to be high on the council's agenda despite them being such a big drawcard for Moree.I must however, praise the staff. You couldn't find friendlier or more helpful staff anywhere, they were fantastic, especially the young lady at reception who greeted us, what a treasure!
Kathryn R — Google review
It's a shame that such a wonderful asset to the Moree community has become a mere skeleton of it's former self. The renovations have ruined the benefits to the community and visitors who visited year after year to witness it's gradual demise and mismanagement.
Kathy P — Google review
Hi, my mum (Ljubica) just spent 2 weeks in Moree and she visited aquatic centre every day. She loved it. She says: Big gratitude to all the staff, I particularly enjoyed in water aerobic exercises and special thanks to Jackie and Cate (or Kate) who helped me with my exercises; see you next year.

The famous Moree Hot Mineral Baths originated in 1895 when the bath's mercurial waters were accidentally discovered. While searching for a reliable source of irrigation water, a bore was sunk into the Great Artesian Basin. Amazingly, this bore derived hot mineral waters, heated naturally at 41 degrees Celsius. This is why we travel from Brisbane to experience this & love the setup. Their facility setup is excellent for everyone to relax.

OK realistically this will only be of interest to... people who are interested in space and/or radio telescopes. The visitor centre has a number of large posters explaining what the telescope does and how it does it, as well a few actual bits of equipment. There's also a video room which I missed.

A free educational experience when visiting Narrabri. 15 minutes away from A39 Newell Highway when entering Narrabri. It's an astronomy observatory so phones must be on airplane mode with wifi and bluetooth turned off.Great for adults and teens who are keen of radio astronomy. It has an interactive display outside, a whispering dish which was really cool, a number of displays, an up close view of the compact array, and a visitor centre that has great information and audiovisual room. They also sell $1 postcards. Has clean toilets and a well kept surrounding. There are Wallabies near the entrance when we visited, they must be everywhere as the land was vast.

This place was amazing the kids loved it and was really cheap to get into Google is saying it's permanently closed now I hope that's not the case because I would definately go back there again when we are in town. There was a large variety of animals and they were all sponsored by local businesses which kept the prices down

What a beautiful little oasis! I felt like I had been transported to another country, the buildings and the little gardens around the place were just gorgeous and so full of character. We only stayed one night in the farmhouse but I wish we stayed longer! I loved feeding and hearing about all the rescue farm animals they have.Food was great too, nice homemade pizza, olives and salad for dinner, and beautiful handmade bread and omelette for breakfast. Would love to visit again soon some day!

Such a fun getaway! Stayed a night here as we needed a pitstop on a long road-trip and thought why not try something a little different? Rooms come in all shapes and sizes and facilities. We stayed in the farmhouse in a large room (think wooden floors, comfy big beds, antique furniture dresser and beautiful large wardrobe). Communal bathroom and kitchenette all incredibly clean and modern, and plenty of tables on the verandah for some boardgames or stargazing. Or you can grab a chair on the green and watch the sunset with a bottle of wine. The restaurant is welcoming, great food - the woodfired pizzas and the german meal with all the trimmings particularly delicious. Local wines and plenty of beer options on the drink list too. There's a pool, you can come help feed the animals in the afternoons and the huge pottery studio was great. We took a morning pottery class and had a blast. Highly recommend this cute little (not so little) hidden gem.

Such a lovely local spot, perfect stop for brunch or lunch - the woodfire Pizza is divine! 😋👌

I came alone and got a good deal with a room in the farmhouse which was a great place to wind down after walking with friends in the Warrumbungles.Once there though I could see plenty of more walking opportunities around the beautiful native forest. In my 2 days there I managed several walks up and down the ridges and valleys. Also managed to do some outdoor painting as well.Easy to mingle with staff and other guests in the atmospheric cafe and pottery studio. This has to be my favourite destination in a long time and I will return later in the year to see the wildflowers and join in a pottery class.

What a special and esquisitely beautiful place. The accommodation is a feast for the senses with every detail a result of artistic skilled craftmanship. The decor incorporates esquisite Pilliga Pottery pieces down to the plates, cups and mugs. We dinned at the cafe and had their authentic German meal which was delicious as was the organic wine. It was a delight to have the service and company of Petra who is part of the community that runs this amazing haven. Of course we had to take home a few more pieces of Pilliga Pottery to add beauty to our home.

My husband and I have just discovered that information centres are excellent for stopping at charge EV. Recently we road tripped from a orange to nightcap ridge to get married and we stopped at quite a few Info centres. Coonabarabran was our favourite as the lady on that day was fascinating to talk to. They have an amazing museum of mega fauna fossils that were discovered in the early 1980’s and they had excellent photography exhibits from kids taking photos of space. Our only disappointment was we couldn’t buy any of the photos.Truly a wonderful pit stop filled with great service, information and interesting facts. We’ve enjoyed sending pics of the fossils to our nephews and talking to friends about our new Knowledge.

Siding Spring Observatory, located near Coonabarabran, NSW, is a renowned astronomical research facility and Australia's leading optical and infrared observatory. The site boasts a collection of large research telescopes and offers tours, an exploratory center, visitor gallery, gift shop, and a cafe for visitors to enjoy. The observatory conducts diverse research activities such as exploring the cosmos for "Dark Energy" and searching for planets within the Milky Way.
This was our first visit to the observatory. We opted for the full day tour, which gave you access to the workings of the telescopes and a tour of the grounds. What an amazing day. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable in all aspects and answered every question. I would definitely recommend doing the tours.

We missed out on the guided tour which was a shame as we drove almost 1hour from our campsite. Also, it would have been great if the telescope was open to the general public for viewing. Otherwise, the location is good with breathtaking views.

Went back to see the observatory after a number of years nothing's changed. Except this time the visitor centre was closed so we only got to have a look at the gallery in the big telescope. Still amazing but one hint if you're going up in winter, take a thick jacket because the weather can change quite quickly.

Observatory visitor centre was closed when we arrived (Wednesday mid-afternoon) but if you wander closer to the base of the observatory you can take a lift up into the viewing platform - fascinating astronomy and telescope posters, video and view into the main telescope area. Panoramic views of the Warrumbungles from the lookout at the base of the observatory. Reasonably accessible; some stairs and an incline to the observatory itself.Unique, well-maintained and well worth the visit particularly with the closest planets of the Solar System Drive on the way up! A must-see for any astronomy buff.

I went there this October long weekend during the Star Fest, when it's open to the public. Very educational and interesting about our understanding of the universe.

Really cool displays in the visitor centre and on the 4th level of the AAT. The staff at the visitor centre gave us an awesome overview of the observatory and its significance. Worth a stop for any science enthusiasts or curious minds.

A fantastic place to visit. A wonderful drive with amazing scenery and when you reach the top of the mountain you have the observatory. There is a visitors centre with cakes and drinks and you can book a tour into the telescope. Ring ahead first. Highly recommended

The tour, held by the same guy (long hair, I can’t remember the name) that held the stargazing tour the previous night at the Gateay Caravan Park. The tour was awesome and we stepped in the room with the telescope. It was mind blowing

We visited while the cafe and main visitor centre was closed - but that turned out fine as there was nobody there! And we still got to see the AA telescope itself in the visitors gallery and look at the exhibits in there. Just follow the path upwards and anyone can just walk in and take the elevator up. Nice views too.Good to see accessible toilets there, and there is a ramp all the way up to the AAT, although it may be steep for some wheelchair users without assistance. Also we loved the scale model of the solar system around the area too! The inner planets are all on the drive up to the observatory

Well worth the stop. Don't do the tour. Check for tour times before you get there. It's recommended not to tow trailers or vans up there. There's a place to unhitch at the turn off. Very interesting stuff

This place is worth a visit to view the actual size of the telescope. Nice view of the Warrumbungles. There is a tour you can pay to go on to see more about the telescope. Cafe was a let down for a tourist destination.

We couldn’t do the tour but were told that there’s a lot to see just at the visitor center and in the exhibit room. Well, no. Everything is old and in dire need of refreshment. The exhibition seems to be, like the cafe, the toilets and the frying oil, from the 1970s. Hard to say whether staff is knowledgeable or friendly because we didn’t see anyone anywhere. Glorious waste of time.

Great place for a quick visit. I took a teen and two toddlers and there was enough to keep us all occupied for a good 45 minutes, plus a nice cafe with decent hot chips. I loved the trip up the tower to see the actual telescope!

The tour is absolutely worth it with Branioc. Great pace, enthusiasm, and a sound knowledge of facility that he articulates well.Do it. You will not regret a minute of itThe view from drome's Walkway platform is worth it alone, The view is spectacular over the whole Warrenbungles volcanic area.Tours are scheduled, and you can book ahead.Check with the info centres at Gilgandra or Coonabarabran. He also I ffers a tour of the Southern Sky at Coonabarabran. See photo of contact card. His coffee is good too!

Attended Starfest 2023. So glad we were able to as we thought the whole experience was awesome. Loved going into the different areas to see different telescopes and the work astronomers do. Our two daughters were in awe of it all. Was a great learning experience for us all. The Anglo Australian Telescope is huge! There was a free bus to take us around to the different places. Took lots or photos of which a small selection are here. If you can attend a future Starfest, then do so!

How can you not love a clever wire sculpture of an elegant flying piggie? We had a brief comfort plus coffee stop - barely caught the cafe as it closed, so continued across the river and found a shady tree on the Coona Rd. Excellent coffee, need to come back to Gilgandra for a proper look. But, that flying piggie!
